Changing mental health for good

Elinor R. is one of SANE Creative Awards grant winners. Her artistic practice is driven by feelings of “otherness,” viewed through the lenses of ritual and magic. Utilising repetitive and rhythmic gestures, ER draws from her lived experiences of autism, ADHD, and synesthesia to explore elements such as texture, voice, recorded media, and live performance.

“Since my application, I was accepted onto a PhD programme on a full scholarship. I could never have dreamed this would be possible for me, but it was because of the funding from your charity, and your kind words of encouragement about my art. I am beginning to realise more of my potential in ways I never thought were possible, so thank you for your belief in my art and work.”

The SANE Creative Awards Scheme in collaboration with The Open University, aims to improve the quality of life for those with mental health problems, their families and carers, by helping them to fulfil their creative potential.

25% of all sale profits go directly to the artists and the rest will be spread across SANEline services; training of Volunteers and furthering the work of the SANE Creative Awards Scheme.
